The immortal words of mothers everywhere, well at least most mothers.

These are the words we carry with us that are in grained in our psyche and somehow during our business day some of us (I would not want to speak for all of us) may temporarily lose the wisdom in these mother’s words.

Do unto others…. Are you coveting a job? Maybe not understanding what it takes for someone else to do their job. Lately even as I am working for myself I forget what it takes to allow someone else to help me. Have I given them everything that they need in order for them to do their job for me in the best and most efficient way possible?

Irritation, irrationality and ire result especially if someone has pride in their work. It can erode relationships and may be even cause a succinct dismissal of you and your dreams.

“Mercedes, SLOW DOWN” my mother use to tell me.
“Are you considering the other person?”
“Now, say it with a smile”

Even as I profess to be ZEN, the business urgency to have to get things done results in tension in my gut and then I KNOW am off center, it happens to the best of us.

I had an incredible conversation with my mom a few days ago and she said to me, “You have always had the ability to forge ahead, see the end result, not look left or right and then jump off of any cliff necessary, in faith, to get the job done. Have you stopped to consider that some of us may want to build a bridge?”

Slow down Mercedes, slow down!
